2013-11-15 Report of the Progress Meeting in Pisa, October 28-29

The fourth progress meeting in the GiraffPlus project was held at CNR-ISTI (National Research Council - Institute of Information, Science and Technologies) in Pisa, Italy. The meetings have several purposes: one is to provide status reports on the ongoing work and the test sites, while another one is to be a forum in which open issues regarding technical integration and evaluation can be discussed. There is now a middle-ware which allows for the integration of Android devices. The Intellicare-kit, an Android device, is now fully integrated into the GiraffPlus system and capable of sending data to the DVPIS. Open technical issues include the integration of the context recognition module as well as the Giraff robot into the DVPIS.

The second review meeting which will take place in Örebro, Sweden on March 7th, 2014, was discussed and the topics were e.g. how to demonstrate the GiraffPlus system, the possibility to share test site data and how we can show innovation.

Decisions concerning time plans were made. This includes both a time plan for D6.2, Intermediate Evaluation report, but also a time plan for the deployment at the last nine test sites and the evaluations thereof during Spring 2014.

The next progress meeting will take place in Coimbra, Portugal, in May 2014.
